Highlights :
  • Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos said that the front-lighting makes it more like ambient light than a back-lit LCD display. It’s 9.1mm thick and 7.5 ounces.
  • The lighting doesn’t affect battery life either, as it gets 8 weeks on a charge even with the light on.
  • This is a direct capacitive touch screen as well, so it’s quicker to react to touch input. Every font has been adjusted to fit the display perfectly, allowing for smaller sized fonts as well.
  • The backlight is adjustable using an on-screen menu and appears to have many steps available to it.
